Understanding Profession and Specialty Extraction Issues for Healthcare Resumes

This document aims to clarify the reasons why Profession and Specialty extraction might fail when integrating CrintellTech parser with Nexus LaborEdge. It also provides explanations for common user-reported issues.

Q1: Why are Profession and Specialty pairs not created in Nexus even when its available in the candidate resume?

Explanation: The CrintellTech parser is capable of extracting both Profession and Specialty details from resumes. However, these extracted pairs cannot be mapped if the agencies do not create the corresponding Profession and Specialty pairs in Nexus LaborEdge.

Q2: Why does candidate creation fail in Nexus when candidate resumes are uploaded through the chrome extension?

Explanation: Candidate creation in Nexus requires Profession and Specialty mapping. If these mappings are unavailable or incomplete for a specific Profession or associated Specialty, candidate creation will fail. • This is an issue with how the agency has configured Prof/Spec in Nexus LaborEdge and not directly related to the parser’s extraction capabilities.

Q3: Why is the Profession and Specialty mapping inappropriate for parser-only integration?

Explanation: For parser-only integration, the CrintellTech parser does not handle Profession and Specialty mapping. Instead, it focuses on extracting Employment History and Education details. A candidate’s LEAP profile might already have the primary Prof/Spec entered by the candidate before uploading the resume for parsing. • The parser relies on the agency’s Nexus configuration for Profession and Specialty mapping for complete integration (Recruitment Assist- chrome extension).

Q4: Why are resumes uploaded but candidate details missing?

Explanation: Candidate details must already exist in Nexus before a resume is uploaded. If the candidate’s LEAP profile is not created with the necessary details (such as Contact Details, Location, etc.), the resume upload process will fail. This is unrelated to the parser, as it can only update Employment History and Education details once a candidate profile is created.
